Dare we say, this is the perfect July cocktail? Relax on a hot summer day in style with the Rosegold cocktail from Estelle Bossy, head bartender at Del Posto. A play on the gold rush, this refreshing drink combines bourbon, fresh summer strawberries and an easy-to make honey syrup. Run, don’t walk, to the liquor store and the farmer’s market. And add this drink to your entertaining arsenal.
Makes 1 drink
2 ounces bourbon, such as Buffalo Trace
1 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
¾ oz honey syrup (2 part honey, 1 part water)
5 dashes aromatic bitters, such as Angostura
1 large strawberry, sliced (or about 5 extra small)
1 large strawberry, to garnish
Add first 5 ingredients to a Boston shaker filled with ice.
Shake vigorously and double-strain into a chilled, ice-filled rocks glass.
Garnish with a whole strawberry and serve immediately.
