Peking Duck Steamed Buns

Ingredients

Makes 6 Servings

2 tablespoons olive oil

¼ cup scallions (thinly sliced, plus more to garnish)

2 cloves garlic (minced)

1 ½ tablespoons sambal

3 tablespoons hoisin sauce

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (toasted, plus more to garnish)

1 tablespoon kimchi (store-bought, plus more to garnish)

1 Peking Duck (store-bought, meat shredded, about 3-4 cups)

1 package steamed Chinese buns

1 bunch cilantro (leaves, to garnish)

Directions

In a large saute pan, add oil and place over medium-high heat.

 

Add scallions and garlic and cook until tender, about 4 minutes. Add sambal, hoisin sauce, sesame seeds, kimchi and duck and cook until warmed through and combined, about 8 minutes.

 

Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

 

Meanwhile, place the buns in a steamer to warm through. Open the buns and fill with the duck mixture. Garnish with a bit of scallions and cilantro.

 

Instead of using Peking Duck, you can use leftover rotisserie chicken or any protein of your choice!
