Take your holiday cheer to the next level with this boozy Italian hot chocolate by Mario Batali.
Makes 1 large drink
6 ounces milk
1 ½ tablespoons Franzese Italian Hot Chocolate
2 ounces espresso, brewed
1 ½ ounces Grappa
2 ounces whipped cream
For the whipped cream
1 cup cream
2 tablespoons powdered sugar, or to taste
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
To make the whipped cream, combine cream, sugar and vanilla on medium high speed in the mixing bowl of a stand mixer. Whip until soft peaks are formed (be careful not to overwhip!). Set aside.
Bring 6 ounces of milk and one and a half tablespoons of Franzese Italian Hot Chocolate to a boil in a saucepan on the stove. Stir continuously.
Pour hot chocolate into a mug, leaving room for the espresso and grappa. Add both then give it a stir. Top with whipped cream, serve and enjoy!
