We are excited to announce the launch of Passport to Italian Cuisine, a ten-course series of cooking classes at Del Posto in collaboration with Food & Wine magazine. Learn the fundamental building blocks of Italian food from its most celebrated practitioners: Pastry Chef Brooks Headley, Chef di Cucina Matt Abdoo, Eataly’s Chief Oliologist Nick Coleman, Food & Wine Executive Wine Editor Ray Isle, and Wine Director Jeff Porter.
The first class in the series will be The Art of Fresh Pasta on Saturday, March 29th at 11:30AM. Italy and pasta are inextricably linked. Learn the tricks to cooking the backbone of Italian cuisine. First, learn to make pasta dough (both with and without eggs) then to form some of the most popular pasta shapes by hand, including orecchiette, pici, cavatelli, farfalle, garganelli, and pappardelle. After class, sit down to a family style meal of the pastas featured in class.
Each class will take place on a Saturday afternoon during the 2014 calendar year. Return from your “trip” primed in the ways of Italy, without ever having had to leave the island of Manhattan.
