Each year, more than 200 billion pounds of fish are extracted from the world’s oceans, rivers and lakes. As a general matter, we fish using the same tools and techniques – net, pole and line, traps and pots – that we did 5,000 years ago. As a result, billions of dollars’ worth of fish is wasted each year, and nearly 90% of the global fish population is exploited.
To bring awareness to this and celebrate Earth Day, we asked four of our chefs to come up with recipes that highlight sustainable seafood. The results were delicious and makes us feel all warm and fuzzy, knowing we’re doing our part to help our oceans and ecosystem!
